As Risk Management Counsel to Lawyers' Professional
Indemnity Company, Karen drew upon her strategic planning
and practice
management experience to create and implement a multi-faceted,
multi-media program to help lawyers be successful in a
changing practice climate. Named practicePRO, it is recognized
as a leading source of risk management tools and resources
in legal and technology circles across North America.
Most recently, Karen applied her knowledge-sharing expertise,
including content management and collaborative strategies,
during a multi-year retainer with Gowling Lafleur Henderson
LLP, one of Canada’s largest national law firms.
This resulted in an integrated system to capture, share
and leverage the firm’s collective knowledge to support
practice management and business development as well as
to enhance client service.
Karen received her law degree cum laude from the University
of Ottawa in 1980 and her Bachelor of Arts (Economics)
from the University of Toronto in 1977.
